What a weekend Fourways had .....
Staff came in early, all energetic, excited and ready to take on the day - they blew up balloons and finished off the final bits of decorating. All was done in good time for our morning meeting, where we cut the cakes, generously sponsored by Kenwood and Cloud Nine. Happy Birthday was sung by all with absolute pride ..... it felt like a moment before a world cup final - a spirit of amazing camaraderie! It wasn't long before the doors were finally opened for the anxious customers. Many knew exactly what they came to buy as they had the flyers and newspaper advertisements in their hands. Sales staff welcomed the customer, offered them cake and coffee and then ushered them to the specific sections. The customer was only separated from the sales staff after the deal was signed and sealed .... and then to the door and some also escorted the customers to their cars. Customers left
very content as they purchased what they came to purchase and much more.
The weekend would not have been the success it was if not for our suppliers.
They were full and made the store all the merrier and celebratory. We had the LG bus parked outside, Nicky from Elba who made her rotisserie chickens, Sieta from AEG demonstrated the pressure cooker by making Hungarian chicken, Angie from Creative Housewares showed off the bread-maker and slow cooker, Celestine from Delonghi, Trish from Bosch, Nespresso, Defy made delightful chocolate brownies, T-fal/Krups flipped their pancakes and waffles, Whirlpool demonstrated their convection oven, Miele treated customers to cocktail sausages rolls and muffins and Elsa made her famous chocolate muffins.
We are all still on a high ........ we plan on maintaining this for the whole month .... Movember is THE month for Fourways ..... by far. An awesome, amazing, incredible, marvellous and enjoyable weekend with sales at a whopping R2,9 million - what a great start to the month :)
